Piper Inn: Not your father's biker bar
Piper Inn has been a Parker Road fixture since 1963 and probably will be forever known as a biker bar. Harleys line the front parking lot, but it’s not the stereotypical rough-and-tumble dive with leather as far as the eye can see. Even longtime regulars say it’s simply a comfortable place with an old-school tavern atmosphere. Whether your ride is a Hog or a Chevy, you’ll feel at home here.

Katie Mullen's Irish fare adds a wee bit of red, white and blue
Is Katie Mullen’s Irish Restaurant & Pub just another concept venue? Hardly. This downtown Denver favorite is a stand-alone proposition with Irish ownership in Carrick-on-Shannon. It’s named in honor of a beloved grandmother—count on authentic Irish fare and premium ales. Yet it simultaneously fulfills the wish list of Mile High City patrons with all-American selections, sports-watching, happy hours and sunny patio. It's an ideal mix of "Erin go bragh" and USA red, white and blue.

The Soiled Dove Underground: Superb sound, intimate atmosphere
In 1997, the original Soiled Dove opened downtown in an area that was notorious for shady ladies and general debauchery in Denver's early Old West days…inspiration for the nightclub's name. When parking and sound restrictions became issues, the club relocated in 2006, opening as The Soiled Dove Underground in Lowry. Would fans migrate too? You bet, with superb lighting and acoustics, and free onsite parking to enhance its always-intriguing, eclectic lineup of national acts.

Hoop it up with big games and tasty chow at Chopper's in Cherry Creek
Named for beloved Denver Nuggets trainer Robert “Chopper” Traviglini (1932-1999), Cherry Creek’s favorite sports bar continues to carry on his name with gusto and class. Here, hardcore fans get rowdy, business folks entertain clients over lunch and casual dates won’t break the bank. A ton of TVs, all-star food and drinks, and a friendly staff that rallies during busy times has made Chopper’s Sports Grill an award-winning neighborhood mecca, as well as a slam dunk for sports.

Party till the cows come home at Grizzly Rose
Since it opened in 1989, The Grizzly Rose has been known as Denver’s authentic destination country-western hangout—it’s even gotten kudos from the Country Music Association. Cold beer and some serious two-steppin' accompany live music six nights a week, and pool tables plus a mechanical bull just add to the fun.
